Therapeutic Approach
I take an integrative, collaborative approach to counseling. My grounding is in Relational Cultural Therapy, which holds that disconnection and isolation are inherently harmful, and that growth occurs through and toward relationships.
Therapy with me is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and weight-neutral. I welcome people of all cultural backgrounds and social identities into my therapy practice.
Specific techniques we use will be tailored to your needs and may include EMDR, Parts Work, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
About the name “Gray Area Counseling”
“Gray Area” embraces the nuance that exists between the stark poles of black-and-white thinking. It emphasizes that most experiences and emotions exist on a continuum. When we approach life from this perspective we are more inclined towards mutual empathy, practicing self-compassion, examining our assumptions, and towards personal growth.
By honoring the “gray” of lived experience, we can cultivate relational resilience. We can increase our capacity to stay connected, to adapt, and to thrive - even when the landscape ahead looks rocky, hazy, or entirely unclear.
About Autumn
I chose to pursue a career in Counseling as a way of making meaning through work and serving my local community. I earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Seattle University in 2025. As a person of middle age I bring a grounded and thoughtful empathy into the therapy space.
